Hey guys, after getting murdered 39 different times I think I've learned to not take this cat home...
But seriously! This game was an absolute delight to play. I found it yesterday and haven't been able to drop it since! The 39 endings were gruesome, and often unexpected! I loved being able to get the true ending after all that relentless torture, and that we were able to defeat IT. I was smiling so hard at the end my cheeks started hurting.
The minigames and jumpscares were awesome! You managed to make things so creepy and even though I don't often get jumpscared, I did get got a few times! The creativity and effort put into this is seen, and very much valued. You did so well! I love the lesson of this story as well—to take each day one at a time, even if there are time when the loneliness sets in, or days when its cloudy. What a wonderful message! Thank you for creating this lovely game. My favorite part was the minigame for the true ending, having to dodge IT through all the places we'd been before.
Thank you so much, I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed the game and its story (even with the horror death simulator and jumpscares)! The ending especially meant a lot to me, so I'm glad it resonated with you too!
oh that exists i tried getting roblox on it and my computer hatted me for it V-V but yeah i could is there any tutorials on getting this on linux? if not i can wait till my gaming laptop is fixed :)
Sorry! I don't have access to linux or mac, so I'm not able to test this out. Ren'py (the program I made the game with) had the option to upload for windows/mac/linux so I did it, but I can't check it myself at the moment.
I searched around and saw this forum link about running Ren'py on linux mint:
Once I started playing I couldn't stop. I was hooked for the rest of the evening trying out all the different endings. I love the visual effects and how sassy and adorable the cat was in their own creepy way. The maze and ending action sequences were excellent. The ending was very well written. I replayed it often with family and friends.
On one hand, I had a LOT of fun coming up with different endings...
On the other hand, I think a lot of people are going to need to experience all those bad endings in order to feel okay with proceeding with the 'endgame' endings.
yeah it freaked me out at first but the game is cute!!! I love the cat and the dogs
I don't recomend the game for people who get freaked out easily plus I have a confession to make I didn't play the game I couldn't so I watched gameplays
If you want to play again with a full reset, you'll have to delete ALL save/persistent data from TWO files -- one in the folder where you installed the game AND one in these platform-specific locations on your computer:
what happens if i get the true ending and then want to "play" with it again after clicking the dots on the menu? i dont really want to lose the true ending but i am pretty curious
It doesn't completely restart the game -- it brings you back to before you get ending 36, the first 'endgame' ending. But you have all the other endings unlocked and access to Load menu. You can get to the true ending again from here.
It's really just to let people replay endings if they missed any hidden dialogue without having to play the whole game again!
I know this is an AMAZING game because I've played it before but it hasn't let me enter it on my phone, I don't know if this is something on my phone or not but I can't enter the game.
I'm so happy that I decided to play this. At first I was confused on why some game about a cat was in the yandere game tag but after spending hours playing this game I fully understand why. You managed to create a genuinely scary yandere stalker that was so relentless and unavoidable in any choice we make. All in the form of an adorable and seemingly harmless cat.
I have so many things to praise about this game:
This game has an MC that I could actually see myself as and heavily relate to when it comes to dealing with social anxiety.
The 4th wall breaks genuinely scared me. Especially when I pressed the load button a few times and was suddenly greeted with a black wall of eyeballs and a new start game.
Every death encountered was so creative and well thought out!
The Cat was a perfect blend of awww so cute! to OH DEAR GOD WHAT KIND OF ELDRITCH ABOMINATION IS THAT!?
I loved that you didn't make the cat a sympathetic villain that we should feel sorry for. 38 bad endings with that little monster was enough to make me lose any sort of love for it.
The ending with us finally taking back control of our choices from the cat and living our lives was a perfect message for people like me who are slowly trying to get out there to live life while struggling with social anxiety.
You definitely have a gift for horror games! If you make anymore games in the future I'll be fully supportive of them!
I was inspired by my cousin's cats (Love my furbaby nephews!) to make a cosmic horror game about a platonic yandere cat! What would you do if you gained the obsessive love of a powerful creature with little empathy and no regard for human morals? Sounded like a bad time -- and a fun story to write!
I wanted to write a character with social anxiety who wasn't completely miserable in their isolation -- functioning and responsible, but also a little lonely and kind of a pushover.
I'll admit to giggling to myself like a little gremlin when I was coming up with the 4th wall breaks, haha!
Since most of the endings are death endings, I knew I had to at least try to make them all interesting to see play out, so I'm glad you liked them!
Because cats are equal parts cute and unnerving, they make for great horror monsters. Some of the gamers I watched playing the game would say something similar to "This is just normal cat behavior!"
It was a hard choice to make since you'd instinctively want such a cute cat to change its ways and love you normally... but yeah, no. After all the mental torture, I felt the true ending would be much more satisfying and congruent with the story's themes I was going for!
I'm glad you liked the ending! I was worried it'd be a little cheesy, but I think the protagonist would be happy with a nice, simple day. And I didn't want them to be completely unrecognizable with a bunch of friends and a suddenly booming social life since social anxiety isn't so easy to get over -- and some people really are just happy in isolation with only a few friends. Baby steps are still steps forward!
Thank you for giving my game a try! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, just finished this. So beautiful and disturbing at the same time. I loved the final endings especially and the story really coming together perfectly at the end
I've watched other people play it so I wanted to try it, but I can't download it through Linux. I've also seen a few other comments about this issue, so any idea how to resolve it?
Sorry I missed your comment! This is what I told someone else with the same problem:
I don't have access to linux or mac, so I'm not able to test this out. Ren'py (the program I made the game with) had the option to upload for windows/mac/linux so I did it, but I can't check it myself at the moment.
I searched around and saw this forum link about running Ren'py on linux mint:
This was an AMAZING game! It took me about a day and a half to complete, totally worth all the hardship and tough/diffcult moments! The sprites are adorable, the storyline was so captivating, I couldn't get enough, haha! I love this game and the ending really hit me in the heart, Im not sure if you were trying to have an emotional impact but it definetely made one on me and I just enjoyed my time playing, I hope you make more games in the future! I would love to play all of them. I'd pay money if I had to, lol, please keep up the good work!
i love this game so much!!! also love how every single one of my choices leads to different consequences, so it was fun playing this game! while i covered the screen while playing this game(going to the dog park made me do it, i was scared of jumpscares), i enjoyed the story so much, especially the ending where the mc takes their babysteps into recovery. i also appreciate the ending guide so much bc i would have given up when there were only 7 endings left. And the art style is cute too!! I'd say my only issue with the game story is that it shows a black cat being evil, and i don't think that's good because they already face this kind of prejudice in real life and some of them gets killed from abuse because of it. There are some people who have difficulty in differentiating reality from fiction, so maybe an additional disclaimer at the start would help? Anyways, the game's great and fun to play!
I was also worried that the game would cast a bad light on black cats. That's why I wanted to have the final ending be the protagonist taking in another black kitten and having it be a healthy and happy pet/owner relationship!
Even when it was literally a pile of goop with one eye, I still felt bad for it when it finally died, either I'm way too empathetic, or very susceptible to (previously) cute animals, and manipulation tactics. The little kitten at the end was way too cute, though!
Seriously amazing game, with a love of love and attention put into it. Loved how imaginative (and disturbing) the endings were and they will have me spooked walking around my house for a solid couple days!
I didn't feel bad but my hatred softened a bit. "If you weren't so evil, maybe there could have been another ending" kinda thought. But alas, it lost it's chance. I'm also weak to cute animals though, wanted to pat the forbidden cat do bad.
It's a challenge for empathetic people to be stern and make boundaries and cut ties with people who hurt you, especially when they appeal to that empathy in order to get what they want from you. I'm glad I was able to portray that a little!
making the decision between "get hopes up and not deliver" or "have no evidence that i wanted to do anything" -- i've gotta say i'm interested in making a fangame or at least some fancontent of this game
reading through all the Word Of God (pixeliminal comments) and paying attention to everything you can see ingame, i think i could pull something off with enough lore-accuracy
my mind is stuck on a Decaying Winter X Do Not Take This Cat Home crossover somehow but it might be something else
pixeliminal, if you can see this, i'd like to share whatever i make here if i get it done (here specifically since this is where you seem to be most present)
I wouldn't mind you making fancontent for the game and sharing it here! So long as you don't use the OST music as is from the game, I'd be excited to see what you come up with!
It's the first time that I played a game/ visual novel that features horror elements . It's quite impressive and has appropriate level of difficulty. Apart from the plot, the most thrilling thing for me, as an English learner, is the rich and amazing utilization of vocabulary.
Absolutely brilliant and imaginative game! I know this is a horror game, but I honestly found the route where the cat comforts the player when the player is venting to it super sweet... until it does you-know-what lol
This game? Oh god, absolutely fun and uncomfortable at the same time. I've always found games like this to be insane good, be it very unsettling. If you got a few hours to spare, give this game a go!
Wow I didnt expect this, I really feel this game is one of the most amusing games I played so far, I love cats lol this scared the sh-t out of me I thought it would be a yandere/romance game, god I was wrong.
I personally think more people should play this game, its an eyes opening experince? (I wrote that wrong lol). SOMEHOW it gave me more awareness.
I'm so glad that I've stumbled upon this gem by accident.
This is one of the best indie horror games that I've played in a long time. I can't even believe it's free. It really feels like a ton of effort was put into it. Thanks again! I'm glad you were to able to enjoy the game until the end!
Absolutely adored this game. The art style drew me in because I thought it was cute and simple yet effective, and decided to stay after each ending. The final endings and leading up to the true ending was quite sad though, and it did feel bittersweet when it was all over. Despite that the game was very fun! The cat in game reminded me lots of my own cat while playing... minus the horror aspects. Thank you for creating this game!
Perfect game! Loved how the game honestly looks, its really nice! Loved how put together an amazing story. Honestly felt sorta bad for the cat in the end, but the cat was clearly trying to manipulate the player into staying with it. Over all 10/10!
I saw the cat as a yandere because its love for the protagonist was violent, overbearing, possessive and obsessive -- just in a platonic way.
That's what it does with all its victims until they're robbed of their lives and bodies; then the cat keeps their wills to strengthen itself (and also because they 'belong' to the cat) and looks for new victims.
I really enjoyed this game, totally worth it. My friend and I was talking about the game, and we came up with a lot of teories. I want to ask something, ¿Does the protagonist have anything to do with the missing people at the beginning of the game?
I admit that I hated the cat at the beginning, but after I saw the true ending... I felt so sorry for it, what a pity that we didn't stayed with it in the end.
But, I really liked the game! I was expecting a simple romance/yandere game, but it was much more than that.
i beat your game under 2 hour. Not gonna lie it was very fun,i all so have a ginger tabby kitten.she just stare at me play this game.i want to say keep up the good work ...
Already left a review but wanted to write a public comment alongside it to recommend it to anyone who might be on the fence about the game and looking in the comments to see how others feel about it. It's a surprisingly unsettling time with a lot of care put into it and is a fairly short but sweet ride, taking me about 4hrs to get all endings.
just got your game like an hour ago, and HOLY SHIT!
i havent yet finished it but from what ive seen so far it is one of the best horror games i have ever had the pleasure of playing! it is genuinely unsettling to the point i have had to take a break and play more tomorrow. this cat is one of the most horrifying horror game antagonists i have EVER ENCOUNTERED! with the way that the more you play the more the game becomes even more self aware is just immaculate!

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far!

hey i totally love this game so good but i got a problem how do i delete the progress i want to play it again
If you want to play again with a full reset, you'll have to delete ALL save/persistent data from TWO files -- one in the folder where you installed the game AND one in these platform-specific locations on your computer:
## Windows: %APPDATA\RenPy\<config.save_directory>
## Macintosh: $HOME/Library/RenPy/<config.save_directory>

I know this is an AMAZING game because I've played it before but it hasn't let me enter it on my phone, I don't know if this is something on my phone or not but I can't enter the game.
Sorry, it's not available on android/mobile -- just pc/windows, mac, linux!
Now THIS is how you make a meta horror game!
I'm so happy that I decided to play this. At first I was confused on why some game about a cat was in the yandere game tag but after spending hours playing this game I fully understand why. I'm not done with this yet but I absolutely love it it's an amazing game so far! No issues at all!! 100% Reccomend
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the rest of the game!

Darn- my PC runs on Chrome OS so it's not compatible with the file ;-; lemme look at the other options.
.....dumb Chromebooks XD
you can get linux on a chromebook, via Set up Linux on your Chromebook - Chromebook Help (google.com)

Love the game but I have a question. in the future will their be an option to keep the demon cat instead of it keeping you
No, I don't have any plans to add anything else to the game! I'll just update fixes and grammar edits as needed.
this game was so scary and yet somehow so cute at the same time, and i did nearly cry at the ending i felt so bad (╥﹏╥) completely recommend!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

SOMEHOW it gave me more awareness.
loved the ending with the stray cat :)
Thank you so much! I wrote this game inspired by my cousin's cats, so it's pretty much for cat lovers. So I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
I'm so glad that I've stumbled upon this gem by accident.
This is one of the best indie horror games that I've played in a long time. I can't even believe it's free. It really feels like a ton of effort was put into it. But more impressive was the fact that it was really unpredictable most of the time. It took me a long time to learn all the patterns. I love the surreal outcome of some of the choices and even some dark humor here and there. I guess the game was inspired by 4th wall breaking games such as Doki Doki and the work of Junji Ito?
Either way, not all games manage to touch me deeply and keep my eyes glued to the screen till the very end, but this one did. I can't wait for future work from you. Also, good luck to me sleeping well tonight...
Thank you for your kind words!
I did take inspiration from Doki Doki and other meta horror games for it's unnerving reactions to player choices. I also took inspiration from works like Junji Ito for the cosmic and existential horror so that it feels alien and surreal, but also strangely personal and emotional.
Thank you very much for playing all the way to the end! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Perfect game! Loved how the game honestly looks, its really nice! Loved how put together an amazing story. Honestly felt sorta bad for the cat in the end,
but the cat was clearly trying to manipulate the player into staying with it.
Over all 10/10!
Thank you so much! The ending is meant to be bittersweet because the feelings are complicated but the outcome is ultimately for the best.
why is this tagged as yandere?
Spoilers:
I saw the cat as a yandere because its love for the protagonist was violent, overbearing, possessive and obsessive -- just in a platonic way.
That's what it does with all its victims until they're robbed of their lives and bodies; then the cat keeps their wills to strengthen itself (and also because they 'belong' to the cat) and looks for new victims.
This was fun to watch! I'm glad you're enjoying the game so far!
will there be a dog version
There aren't any plans for it at the moment. This game was mostly inspired by my cousin's cats and what I thought would be terrifying for a cat owner!
thank you for answering
I really enjoyed this game, totally worth it. My friend and I was talking about the game, and we came up with a lot of teories. I want to ask something, ¿Does the protagonist have anything to do with the missing people at the beginning of the game?
Thank you, I'm glad you both enjoyed the game! The protagonist didn't have anything to do with the missing people.
...But the cat certainly did.
I admit that I hated the cat at the beginning, but after I saw the true ending... I felt so sorry for it, what a pity that we didn't stayed with it in the end.
But, I really liked the game! I was expecting a simple romance/yandere game, but it was much more than that.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the story!

Thank you for the review and the comment! I'm glad the game was able to surprise and entertain you!
Take it.
Your let's play videos were really funny! I'm glad you're enjoying the game!
just got your game like an hour ago, and HOLY SHIT!
i havent yet finished it but from what ive seen so far it is one of the best horror games i have ever had the pleasure of playing! it is genuinely unsettling to the point i have had to take a break and play more tomorrow. this cat is one of the most horrifying horror game antagonists i have EVER ENCOUNTERED! with the way that the more you play the more the game becomes even more self aware is just immaculate!
15/10 you have completely outdone yourself!
Thank you! I really appreciate that! I hope you enjoy the rest of the game!
Thank you so much! That's really kind of you to say.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
